BOATING ACTIVITIES

Windmill Harbour is home to a variety of different boaters. From small center console fishing boats to large offshore sport fishing boats, fertile fishing grounds are nearby. A significant fleet of Harbor 20s engages in class racing and there are numerous cruising and sailing activities including the Calibogue Cup, Harbour Town Cup and Ocean Challenge. The Harbourmaster sponsors an annual party where slip owners and renters socialize.

"This place is hard to improve upon as its in a great location, VERY protected, beautiful homes that rival any you will see at harbors in SC. Top that with great people running the harbor (Jake and Zach). When you come into the lock, don't worry as they have nice rubber bumpers and lines for you. The ride up and down is smooth. You may have an initial surge for or aft....but it quickly reverses and the largest or smallest boats ride up and down with relatively little motion. We docked a 30' sailboat here in the late 90s and just returned with our 42' cruiser. Brought back great memories and it has gotten even better with age."
