WINDMILL HARBOUR LOCK

Our lock provides a tide free basin, wonderful security and a beautiful harbour. Transiting the lock is a cinch. Our helpful harbourmaster and his staff are there to operate the lock during normal hours and 24 hour access is available when you have your own personal lock card.

The lock controls the water level and protects the marina from extreme weather. Because there isn’t a current in the marina, it helps prevent barnacle growth.

"This place is hard to improve upon as its in a great location, VERY protected, beautiful homes that rival any you will see at harbors in SC. Top that with great people running the harbor (Jake and Zach). When you come into the lock, don't worry as they have nice rubber bumpers and lines for you. The ride up and down is smooth. You may have an initial surge for or aft....but it quickly reverses and the largest or smallest boats ride up and down with relatively little motion. We docked a 30' sailboat here in the late 90s and just returned with our 42' cruiser. Brought back great memories and it has gotten even better with age."
